Khatuna Meshveliani has been in charge since 2014.

On 29 May, at the reporting-election conference, Khatuna Meshveliani presented four-year report of ESFTUG’s Lentekhi branch organization.

Along with delegates selected by primary organizations and local invited guests, ESFTUG’s President Maia Kobakhidze, Vice-Presidents Mari Alugishvili and Natia Kordzadze, Head of the Central Office Chancellery Ketevan Vadachkoria participated in the conference. Head of Lentekhi Educational Resource Center Badri Kardava, senior teacher of the Educational Resource Center Donara Musellian, Director of the Association of Kindergartens of Lentekhi Municipality Lamzira Gugava and Principal of Lentekhi #1 public school Nato Jankhoteli attended the conference.

Head of ESFTUG’s Lentekhi branch organization especially underlined the importance of the conference participants had the opportunity, together with the ESFTUG’s president discuss educational reform directions, the needs, problems and challenges of teachers.

Khatuna Meshveliani thanked the principals of Lentekhi public schools for support and ongoing cooperation in the rehabilitation process of the regional organization. The speaker talked about the results of the measures taken by the strict compliance with the principle of voluntary attitudes, and noted that the Lentekhi branch organization incorporates 59% of the employees in educational institutions. Khatuna Meshveliani named the increase in the number of members and strengthening of the regional organization as the main direction of future activity. She noted that the work carried out in the pre-school establishment gave a significant result, the Lentekhi kindergartens trusted the trade union and in December 2017, a collective agreement was signed with the Lentekhi Kindergarten Union. Head of Lentekhi branch organization thanked the Mayor of Lentekhi Municipality and Chairman of Sakrebulo for effective partnership. The municipal authorities and the trade union have planned joint actions to prevent challenges from the introduction of the Law of Georgia on Early and Pre-school Education and initiated in the pre-school institutions," - said head of ESFTUG’s Lentekhi branch organization.

The speaker pointed out that during the reporting period, public school teachers' cases were not recorded, they traditionally celebrated women’s, mothers’ and other holidays, they co-funded the primary organizations' excursions.

The special interest among the participants was on the presentation of ESFTUG’s president Maia Kobakhidze on the activities carried out by ESFTUG in 2014-2018.

Discussion was held on the lack of young staff in schools, supporting and evaluating the teachers. The delegates have proposed a need to provide teachers with a different pension.

Delegates noted that they would provide their colleagues with many interesting information about the activities of the trade union and they unanimous elected Khatuna Meshveliani, as the head of ESFTUG’s Lentekhi branch organization for the next four years. The decision was made by open ballot, according to which the Lentekhi branch organization’s Council was completed with all the primary organizations’ leaders.

At the end of the conference, teachers expressed their concerns that the singing teacher's team which was formed in Lentekhi, stopped its work due to lack of money.

After the ESFTUG’s Lentekhi branch organization's reporting-election conference, in the informal environment, pleasant event was held with folk motifs, where the teachers performed Georgian folk songs and hymns.
