         On June 2, 2018 7th reporting-election conference was held in ESFTUG’s Batumi City Organization.

Speaker, head of ESFTUG’s Batumi city organization Gulnara Bzikadze congratulated the delegates of the conference on the Independence Day of Georgia, and then the Children's International Day.

The rapporteur noted that she is proud to be the son of the country where such act of independence was adopted 100 years ago and then she presented to the audience the report of the work carried out from June 23, 2013 to June 2, 2018.

The rapporteur noted that she is well aware of the commitment of our organization to protect the labor, social, economic, legal and professional rights of the employees in the education system and its further improvement. For this purpose, the organization has done many good things. Two teachers were returned to school, the hospital sheet in preschool institutions was restored, helped some teachers with the help of ESFTUG’s lawyer Ucha Bakuradze. In the kindergartens wages were increased with trade union’s involvement and negotiations.

The speaker talked about the importance of helping teachers to get involved in the professional development and career progression scheme. Submitting them to the subject exam, as well as skills and obtain the required credit scores.

During the reporting period, Batumi city organization trained 873 public schools’ and 232 pre-schools’ institutions’ teachers.

Gulnara Bzikadze talked about different kinds of cultural events conducted in Batumi. A special event dedicated to Women's Day was celebrated. “It is impossible not to take care on women and mothers, they are very active members of our organization”- she said.

Head of ESFTUG’s Batumi city organization also talked about the problems that are still in the educational system: low salaries, pensions, lack of young staff, limited health care packages and many more.

Gulnara Bzikadze introduced the statement of Minister of Education Mikheil Chkhenkeli, where he stated that salaries of all the teachers, administrators and technical personnel employed in the public schools should be increased and she expressed hope that the salaries of the employees in the educational system will be increased and the conditions of the employee will be improved.

Delegates of the debate took many problems, which remain unresolved in public schools and pre-school institutions.

At the end of the conference Gulnara Bzikadze, head of ESFTUG’s Batumi City Organization thanked the leaders of all primary organizations, ESFTUG’s president, Maia Kobakhidze, ESFTUG’s vice-president, Alexander Beridze. Finally Gulnara Bzikadze awarded with honorary diplomas and gifts active union leaders for their special contribution to trade union activities.
