 "My colleagues did not give me a chance to break my heart! With Maia Kobakhidze's example I learned how to get out of the way ... how to fight against the lies, the injustice and how to go to the goal despite the obstacles! "- said Giuli (Manana) Chokheli, a candidate of ESFTUG’s Mtskheta regional organization’s head. 43 delegates participated in the N1 reporting-election conference of the ESFTUG’s Mtskheta regional organization. The conference was attended by Natia Kordzadze, ESFTUG’s Vice President, Mariam Mkalavishvili, Director of the Professional Development Center for Educational Institutions, Gela Bakradze, Head of Mtskheta Municipality Council, Beka Iordanishvili head of Mtskheta Educational Resource Center, deputy head of Mtskheta kindergartens’ union Khatuna Navrozashvili and Nana Bokhua, principal of the Mtskheta Municipality N2 public school. Teacher Maia Basishvili was the chairman of the conference. Giuli Chokheli, representative of the ESFTUG in Mtskheta municipality, started trade union activities in 2014 with the support of the heads of the organization. She remarked in the speech that at the beginning she could not even imagine to be involved in such a fight. "Mtskheta was the fight area. On one side of the battlefield was I - representative of the internationally and nationally recognized organization, and on the other side was a representative of the "yellow union" with false promises. Teachers were confused where the real power was and they could not know whom the alternative trade union were serving, which side would be able to protect the rights of teachers?!"- so recalled Giulio Chokheli started her active, four-year trade union activity when she could not even imagine what kind of difficulty it was going to engage in. In the process of organizational rehabilitation of ESFTUG, was intensely going on attraction of the members and trade union propaganda in public schools and pre-school institutions of Mtskheta municipality. With the help of ESFTUG’s assisted organizations, Giuli Chokheli managed to create 27 primary organizations and to unite 497 employees in Mtskheta regional organization. "It's very easy to collapse, and it's quite difficult to build. The Mtskheta organization has passed these two stages" - said Giuli Chokheli and noted that she always felt supportive from the ESFTUG’s leadership and each colleague, which was raising her capability. Acting head of ESFTUG’s Mtskheta Regional Organization said that "Light" appeared after the last two years, for which Giuli Chokheli expressed particular gratitude to the members and recalled the meetings of the ESFTUG’s president with a wide audience of Mtskheta teachers. The speaker talked about the assistance of each employee of the ESFTUG's central office, with their experience and expertise she learned trade union principles, including trade union activities, effective cooperation with social partners and ways of obtaining confidence in members. Giuli Chokheli thanked Social Partners for attending and coordinating the conference. "ESFTUG’s President Maia Kobakhidze gives us an incentive to create the authority of our great family at regional level. Thanks to everyone in order to return Mtskheta teachers to the big family of the free trade union" - said Giuli Chokheli. Giuli Chokheli organized events in the reporting period, taking into consideration the experience of small financial resources and structural units. 57 trainings have been conducted for promoting professional growth of members of the public schools and kindergartens. Giuli Chokheli thanked Mariam Mkalavishvili, Director of the Professional Development Center for Educational Institutions, for trainings and Mtskheta Public School №2 for facilitating the trainings. 130 teachers of eleven public schools of Mtskheta municipality participated in the pilot project implemented by ESFTUG’s "Professional Development Center for Employees", with the support of "Teacher Professional Development Center". Teachers were granted 1.5 credits. Members of the Mtskheta regional organization were involved in the large-scale events organized by ESFTUG, including a joint project of ESFTUG and Danish High School Teachers' Trade Union - GL. In 2017, village Ksani public school’s pupils’ theatrical troupe became the participant of the School Theater Festival... On behalf of ESFTUG’s Mtskheta regional organization, pupils and school teachers received fund for the excursion. In the reporting period the members of the ESFTUG were awarded with winter and summer relaxation programs.150 children of the Mtskheta district organization’s members attended the New Year's Theatrical event at "Art Hall". Traditionally, members were involved in cultural events, activities dedicated to the March 8, Mother's Day and Teacher's International Day. Giulia Chokheli, presented the action plan for the next four years, calling on the delegates to be critical to collaborate further development of the organization. "The increase in the number of members strengthens the organization, its financial position and gives a better chance of service," said Giuli Chokheli. "This organization has enabled us to have supporters and friend union leaders in every corner of Georgia ... we should stand together, have hope of one another, that our profession and each teacher would be appreciated ... Do not let us stay alone, become one fist ... Personally free Employees create a strong trade union"- ended her speech Giuli Chokheli. Participants of the Mtskheta Regional Organization’s conference were addressed by the invited guests. They noted the role and importance of teachers in the upbringing and development of the future generation of the country. The speakers talked about Giuli Chokheli's activity, care for schools and kindergartens employees. Natia Kordzadze, the Vice President of the ESFTUG, introduced the four-year report to the participants of the conference. Natia Kordzadze thanked the employees of the educational system for their invaluable work for educating and upbringing future generation and called on the delegates to have active trade union propaganda among their colleagues. The conference participants were given the opportunity to openly express their opinions about the ongoing processes in the education system and expressed their gratitude to the activities of the ESFTUG. At the end of the conference, delegates unanimously expressed their trust to Giuli Chokheli and elected her as a leader of ESFTUG’s Mtskheta regional organization for the next 4 years. The Delegates of the Conference approved the future four-year work plan of the Mtskheta regional organization and elected the delegates for ESFTUG's IX reporting-election congress with open ballot. In the final part teachers and social partners were awarded with ESFTUG’s certificates.
