An event dedicated to Women Week was held in GTUC office concerning the rights of female educators.
ESFTUG president, Maia Kobakhidze, and GTUC deputy-chairperson Eter Matureli met public school teachers. Speakers talked about ongoing reforms in education system and collective agreements with educational institutions.
Event organizers also distributed gifts to attendees. Up to 50 public school educators and ESFTUG regional leaders were present at the event.
Women Week has started on 2 March and its slogan is “Women for Social Equity”. Several events have been already held during the week, including a conference dedicated to Convention #183 of ILO regarding the “Protection of Motherhood” and its ratification.
Unions Confederation also organizes a demonstration from Roses Square until the Parliament building.
