"I believe that you should not stop after bad harvest ... you must still sow ... The main thing is to be unanimous and to wish a successful future. We should continue to work for better results ... It depends on us what our tomorrow will be. Hopefully, we will have better results at the next conference "- with these words Tamar Gabunia, head of ESFTUG’s Kutaisi city organization addressed the delegates of N3 reporting-election conference. ESFTUG’s Kutaisi city organization’s N:3 reporting-election conference was held on June 19, 2018, which was chaired by Lia Ratiani, teacher of Kutaisi public school N:37. The conference was attended by 48 delegates, ESFTUG’s President Maia Kobakhidze and Vice-President Natia Kordzadze. The conference was attended by the active and committed members of the ESFTUG: head of primary organization of village Isriti public school Lela Tkeshelashvili and teacher of village Gelati public school Khatuna Kapanadze. Head of ESFTUG’s Kutaisi city organization Tamar Gabunia, started talking about challenges, artificial barriers and causes of these barriers. “There were years when at the conference of Kutaisi city organization were attended 130-150 delegates... Today only 49 delegates have been presented, It is impossible to name only one offender," - said the speaker. Today, ESFTUG's Kutaisi city organization unites 20 public schools and 5 kindergartens, which is not enough for the head of the organization. The leader of Kutaisi city organization focused on the importance of strengthening the Kutaisi structural subdivision, on her, as a leader's responsibilities and obligations. She also noted that the accomplice of the achieved results and activities of the ESFTUG should become all employees of the education sector who should be aware of their roles in the trade union. For the realization of all these and other directions in the life of school and kindergartens, the most effective mechanism is the activity of primary trade union organizations. "Each member of the leader needs should feel from the leader the care, support, high responsibility and competence to feel safe ... All our members should perceive the union as their own family, where they get care, protection of their rights and interests, and work for their professional perfection" - said the leader of Kutaisi city organization. The head of Kutaisi city organization expressed her gratitude to the teachers of Kutaisi who expressed their confidence in the trade union and actively engaged in trade union activities after the difficult years of ESFTUG. Tamar Gabunia highlighted the efforts of the ESFTUG’s President in her report. "During these years there was no case for any member to express any desire or demand, which did not respond by the ESFTUG’s president and all the activities of the trade union are finishing in favor of the members." Tamar Gabunia highlighted the self-serving activities of the head of the legal department Ucha Bakuradze, because of his professionalism, in the last few years, 5 teachers of Kutaisi public schools have returned to their beloved jobs after the court proceedings. The speaker emphasized the activities of the ESFTUG’s central office, as a result of which the members of the organization receive attention and tangible benefits from the trade union. In addition to the protection of members' legal rights, for members of Kutaisi city organization are available professional development training seminars, which are provided by ESFTUG’s Center for Professional development of Employees in Educational Institutions and by the qualified trainers. Tamar Gabunia pointed out the inadequate number of measures to increase the qualification of the employee, which is due to lack of members and due to the small budget. Head of the Kutaisi city organization Tamar Gabunia believes that it is necessary to activate more employees and raise civic awareness because "it is impossible for people to do something for them, even if it is good for them, we think they should help them to act." “All you agree, more effective step should be taken to strengthen the organization. I hope for the fact that those who left our organization did not mention the frustration, lack of attention and inactivity of trade union as a reason. We are studying all the problems deeply and I hope we will be able to accomplish a lot of good work together, "- said Tamar Gabunia. Leader of the Kutaisi city organization presented a four-year action plan on the conference, based on her many years of experience in trade union activities, the requirements, proposals and views of the Kutaisi primary organization. The main priority of the Tamar Gabunia’s Action Plan is the establishment of a strong, effective and competitive city organization that will be focused on increasing the trustworthiness of the members and the image of the organization, cooperation with the public, local authorities, partner and donor organizations. In the next academic year, along with the attraction and maintaining of the members, the Action Plan envisages the protection and representation of labor, social, economic and professional rights of employees of Kutaisi kindergartens and public schools; Raising public awareness of ESFTUG’s members; Activation of primary organizations; Stimulate successful profiles and engage in encouraging activities; Study of expectations of the members and establishment of needs; Identify challenges and find ways to solve them; Organizing cognitive cultural, artistic, sporting events and competitions at the city level; Celebrate the significant dates and financing projects initiated by members; Organizing trade union seminar-trainings for new members and activists; Partnership with local self-government, educational resource center, kindergartens’ union, public schools’ principals, timely and effective awareness of the leaders of the primary organizations. I would like that you trust me, to be able to win decent working conditions in order to boost educated, free straining generations "- with these words ended her speech Tamar Gabunia.
